Locked on your device
Before an entry is saved or synced, PrivaLog protects it on the device you’re using. Titles, body text, mood, tags, and favorites become unreadable without your key.
Synced without readable text
Servers store protected data so you can sync across devices — not a readable diary. Account email, entry dates, and technical metadata support sync and calendar views. Search runs on your device after unlock.
Your diary passphrase
Your account password signs you in. Your diary passphrase unlocks your entries. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Keep your diary passphrase safe
PrivaLog cannot reset or recover it. If you lose it, your protected entries cannot be restored — by us or anyone with access to the servers. Store it somewhere only you control.
Your account password and diary passphrase are separate. Changing one does not change the other.
